I challenged my friend Ned to challenge me to illustrate some entries from the wonderful http://badkidsjokes.tumblr.com/

Here is the first.

THE LION

My far more talented friend Dan T has drawing a picture of John Knox and Shaft in a spaceship. Who knows? Who cares. More from Dan T here: http://dtysen.tumblr.com/Image

What do you clear out blocked pipelines with? A pig!

How do you get the pig down there? A pig-launcher!

Why yes, this is a beaver in a welding mask.

Sketch for an illustration for my excellent friend’s web app, full pictures to come.

I did a lot of doodles. Then I animated them.

(A promo video for my organization, PEN, that promotes cool science projects in the developing world. If you like it on youtube, it we can get through to the next round of the MIT 100k competition! So like it, please 🙂 )

Just to keep things rolling, the next few days are going to be illustrations I did a children’s book written by a friend a few years ago. “The Curious Travels of Mira’s Elder Brother” by Anna Waldman-Brown.

No doodles for now. Not even any blue splotches.

As compensation: pictures of where I’ve been living!

This is the teensy cafe at which I am now a regular, after it routinely failed to give me food poisoning (despite no apparent difference in cleanliness). I am unsure if it has a name, but it does have delicious dosa.

In the city centre there is a posh park with a Rs. 10 entrance fee. Dozens flock to ride around in a circle in a wee train with Donald Duck painted on the side.

Spot the quintessential Hubli items: painted temple building, lots of very practical hardware shops, overgrown tree, street food stall, motorbikes and a random cow

Clearance distances are for wimps. Real men celebrate Diwali by kicking fireworks around with bare feet in the middle of a crowd!

Occasionally there are traffic jams. Cows invariably have right of way.
